The HealthTech Cluster, an entity whose board of Directors has Ventura Medical Technologies as a member, has held the II Strategic Immersion Conference on the 20th and 21st October at the Hotel Mola Center in Terrassa (Barcelona, Spain).
Assistants and speakers have focused their attention on the strategic challenges of the health technology sector and shared some successful experiences. During the II Strategic Immersion Conference, HT Clúster has signed an agreement with Boston’s MassMEDIC, the largest medical device cluster in the United States and, at the same time, the most powerful MedTech industry agglomerator partner in the world.
During the day, the following data have been confirmed: 240 companies are dedicated to the healthtech sector, 50% of the existing ones in Spain; and a volume of 3,000 million euros, also accounting for half of the state total. Therefore, Catalonia is ranked fourth in the number of companies in the sector per capita, just behind Israel, Sweden and Switzerland.
The II Strategic Immersion Conference has addressed disruptive innovations in healthcare; reference business models in medtech and digital health and the future challenges of innovation and hospital shopping. Concepts such as bioprinting, big data, bioinformatics or robotics have been dealt these days. The explanation of successful cases in public-private collaboration has been another one of the relevant blocks of the day. Attendees have also enjoyed a showroom, where Ventura Medical Technologies, among other companies, has introduced its products to the attendees.
The HealthTech Cluster project was born two years ago, when the Cluster Board decided to commit to this initiative. Since then, the number of members has grown and now there are more than 40 companies in the health sector associated with this entity.
