{"id":13467,"date":"2018-08-06T12:31:30","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T12:31:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/?p=5645\/"},"modified":"2018-08-06T12:31:30","modified_gmt":"2018-08-06T12:31:30","slug":"the-united-kingdom-joins-the-treatment-with-the-pectus-up-surgery-kit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/the-united-kingdom-joins-the-treatment-with-the-pectus-up-surgery-kit\/","title":{"rendered":"THE UNITED KINGDOM JOINS THE TREATMENT WITH THE PECTUS UP SURGERY KIT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><em>Hospital General de Catalunya, belonging to Quir\u00f3nsalud Group, was the setting of a new surgery with the Pectus Up, developed by Ventura Medical Technologies, with the participation of Dr. Nagarajan Muthialu, cardiothoracic surgeon of the Great Ormond Street Hospital of London, England.<\/em> <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A patient affected by <strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong> has travelled to Barcelona to be operated on at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hgc.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General University Hospital of Catalonia<\/a>, belonging to the Quir\u00f3nsalud Group. Once the postoperative period has been over, the patient will be controlled by Dr. Muthialu at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gosh.nhs.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Great Ormond Street Hospita<\/a>l to provide him with a better recovery, as close as possible to his normal residence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The patient was operated on by Dr. Bernardo N\u00fa\u00f1ez, head of the Pediatric Area of ??the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tauli.cat\/tauli\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hospital Parc Taul\u00ed of Sabadell<\/a> (Barcelona), the center where the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> technique was first described. Dr. N\u00fa\u00f1ez has took part in more than 25 surgeries with the new extrathoracic implant, which makes him one of the most experienced professionals in this technique at the present time. In fact, he teamed up as a researcher with <strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong> in the development of the <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> from the clinical trial phase.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. N\u00fa\u00f1ez is also an Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. As well, he is a member of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Surgery, the Spanish Association of Pediatrics, the Catalan Society of Pediatrics and the Academy of Medical Sciences and Health of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Nagarajan Muthialu, a cardiothoracic surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, specializes in heart, thoracic and tracheal diseases in children, including heart and lung transplants.
