{"id":13497,"date":"2018-10-29T09:29:42","date_gmt":"2018-10-29T09:29:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/?p=5866\/"},"modified":"2025-06-23T08:58:23","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T08:58:23","slug":"first-operation-at-hospital-clinic-barcelona-with-the-pectus-up-surgery-kit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/first-operation-at-hospital-clinic-barcelona-with-the-pectus-up-surgery-kit\/","title":{"rendered":"FIRST OPERATION AT HOSPITAL CL\u00cdNIC DE BARCELONA WITH THE PECTUS UP SURGERY KIT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><em>Dr. Laureano Molins and Dr. Angela Guirao Montes performed the first surgery in Hospital Cl\u00ednic de Barcelona on a 36-year-old patient affected by Pectus Excavatum.<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The intervention practiced by doctors Molins and Guirao was attended by professionals from the Pediatric Surgery Service of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hospitalgermanstrias.cat\/es\">Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol<\/a> in Badalona (also known as Can Ruti) and the Thoracic Surgery Service of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quironsalud.es\/cordoba\">Hospital Quir\u00f3nsalud of C\u00f3rdoba<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Andrea Soria from Can Ruti, and Dr. Antonio \u00c1lvarez Kindelan, from Hospital Quir\u00f3nsalud of C\u00f3rdoba, were trained in the new <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> technique with the team led by <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/profesionales\/dr-laureano-molins-lopez-rodo\/\">Dr. Laureano Molins<\/a>, who performed the operation along with Dr. Guirao on a 36-year-old patient with excellent results.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Antonio \u00c1lvarez Kindelan is Head of Thoracic Surgery at Hospital Quir\u00f3nsalud of C\u00f3rdoba and Thoracic Surgeon of the Pulmonary Transplant Unit of the Hospital Reina Sof\u00eda, in the same Spanish city. In turn, Dr. Andrea Soria is a specialist in pediatric surgery, trained at Hospital Sant Joan de D\u00e9u in Barcelona, ??with a specific dedication in thoracic and digestive surgical pathology. She is currently head of the pediatric surgery service at Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">With the incorporation of these two surgical services, more hospitals in Spain will be able to offer the new surgical treatment of <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up <\/strong>to <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong> affected patients, both children and adults. This method has been developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/venturamedicaltechnologies.com\/es\/\">Ventura Medical Technologies<\/a> and has many advantages over previous techniques, including a less invasive approach, a less painful procedure and a faster recovery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Laureano Molins is the head of service in the Hospital Cl\u00ednic and the Sagrat Cor Hospital in Barcelona, ??as well as a founding member of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons, a professor at the School of European Thoracic Surgery, an associate professor of surgery at the University of Barcelona, ??and member of the <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/\">Royal European Academy of Doctors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Angela Guirao is a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sect.es\/\">Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery<\/a> attached to the thoracic surgery service of the Hospital Cl\u00ednic, a university hospital founded in 1906 and belonging to the Network of Hospitals of Public Utility of Catalonia (XHUP).
