{"id":13525,"date":"2019-03-11T13:49:34","date_gmt":"2019-03-11T13:49:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/?p=7372"},"modified":"2019-03-11T13:49:34","modified_gmt":"2019-03-11T13:49:34","slug":"patient-from-the-united-states-travels-to-barcelona-to-undergo-surgery-with-the-pectus-up-surgery-kit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/patient-from-the-united-states-travels-to-barcelona-to-undergo-surgery-with-the-pectus-up-surgery-kit\/","title":{"rendered":"A PATIENT FROM THE UNITED STATES TRAVELS TO BARCELONA TO UNDERGO SURGERY WITH THE PECTUS UP SURGERY KIT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><em>Dr. Manuel L\u00f3pez-Paredes operated at the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.corachan.com\/es\"><em>Corachan Clinic<\/em><\/a><\/strong><em><strong> on an 18-year-old boy who purposely travelled from Illinois to Barcelona.<\/strong> <\/em><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The patient stayed in hospital for two days and he is currently recovering in his hometown following his discharge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This time, Dr. L\u00f3pez carried out the operation with Dr. Javier Bueno, using the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong>, an extrathoracic implant developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/venturamedicaltechnologies.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ventura Medical Technologies<\/a> to correct the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong> with a minimally invasive approach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/profesionales\/dr-manuel-lopez\/\">Dr. Manuel L\u00f3pez<\/a> is the current chief of Pediatric Surgery at Vall d\u2019Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, \u200b\u200band Dr. Javier Bueno is the chief of Pediatric and Digestive Transplants at the same hospital. The surgery was also attended by Dr. Javier P\u00e9rez, attending physician in the Thoracic Surgery Service of Vall d&#8217;Hebron Hospital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">There are already several patients having traveled from the American continent to be operated on with the Pectus Up, since it is a method that involves a faster recovery than the rest, which allows the patient to travel a few days after surgery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Among all existing techniques for the surgical treatment of <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong>, currently the least invasive is <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong>, since it is an extrathoracic method and cannot affect the internal organs of the chest. To date, <strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong> is marketing the <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> implant in Spain, France and Portugal, in Europe, and in Colombia, in Latin America.
