{"id":13532,"date":"2019-03-28T15:15:47","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T15:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/?p=7419"},"modified":"2022-12-19T11:33:20","modified_gmt":"2022-12-19T11:33:20","slug":"pectus-up-at-ipegs-28-annual-congress-for-endosurgery-in-children-santiago-chile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/pectus-up-at-ipegs-28-annual-congress-for-endosurgery-in-children-santiago-chile\/","title":{"rendered":"THE PECTUS UP, PRESENT AT IPEG\u2019S 28 ANNUAL CONGRESS FOR ENDOSURGERY IN CHILDREN, HELD IN SANTIAGO DE CHILE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><em>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/em><\/strong><em> and Pectus Chile, the new official distributor of Pectus Up in this Latin American country, introduced the new implant at the Annual Congress of the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG).<\/em><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The IPEG is an organization that promotes new ideas, innovation and education in minimally invasive pediatric surgery, which is why the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> was present at its 28th Annual Congress, atended by 2,500 guests, including medical, pediatrics and neonatology professionals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The congress was held in Santiago de Chile between March 19 and 23 with Dr. Miguel Guelfand and Dr. Patricio Varela as members of the organizing committee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The introduction of the Pectus Up at the IPEG congress, before the international professionals who attended the congress, was organized Mr. Jorge Espinoza, CEO of <strong><em>Pectus<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Chile<\/em><\/strong>, the new oficial distributor for <a href=\"http:\/\/venturamedicaltechnologies.com\/es\/\">Ventura Medical Technologies\u2019<\/a> <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Furthermore, and coinciding with the event, on Saturday March 23 the first surgery with Pectus Up took place in Chile, held by Dr. Patricio Herrera Oroz, a pediatric surgeon from Santiago de Chile who operated on the first Chilean patient treated with this technique, a 13 year-old girl, in the Hospital Dr. Exequiel Gonz\u00e1lez Cort\u00e9s. Herrera is a doctor at the Pediatric Surgery Service of the Hospital Dr. Exequiel Gonz\u00e1lez Cort\u00e9s and the Cl\u00ednica Alemana de Santiago. He is also a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cl.linkedin.com\/in\/secretaria-schcp-461406a2\">Chilean Society of Pediatric Surgery<\/a> and works as a professor at the University of Chile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The surgical intervention was also atended by <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/profesionales\/dr-manuel-lopez\/\">Dr. Manuel L\u00f3pez Paredes<\/a>, an international expert in the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> technique, offering his support to Dr. Herrera in this first surgery practiced in Chile. Dr. L\u00f3pez is the head of the Pediatric Surgery Service of the Vall d&#8217;Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, \u200b\u200band has successfully held several interventions with this new extrathoracic
