Chest World International Group Congress"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><em>Dr. Manuel L\u00f3pez Paredes shared his experience with Pectus Up and that of other surgeons \u00a0specialised in the treatment of Pectus Excavatum at the 20th CWIG Congress.<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The congress, which took place from July 25 to 28 in Pretoria, was aimed at pediatric surgeons, as well as thoracic surgeons and all other doctors interested in chest wall conditions and in recognizing opportunities for improvement within surgical practices for <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On Saturday 27th, Dr. L\u00f3pez introduced the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> technique as an excellent minimally invasive alternative in the surgical treatment of <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong>. The session moderated by doctors Hyung Joo Park (South Korea) and Horacio Abramson (Argentina) discussed surgical innovations for the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A few months ago, L\u00f3pez already introduced the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> in an international course of the CWIG, in Lucca (Italy), sponsored by the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chped.it\/\">Societ\u00e0 Italiana di Chirurgia Pediatrica<\/a><\/em>. The course was aimed at thoracic, pediatric and plastic surgeons interested in surgical innovations for the treatment of <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Manuel L\u00f3pez-Paredes, current head of the Pediatric Surgery Service of the Hospital Vall d\u2019Hebron in Barcelona, is one of the highests international experts in the technique, both in the implantation and in the training of <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> technique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Among the options to correct the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong>, congenital deformity of the chest wall consisting of sinking of the chest in the sternum area, there is the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong>, developed by the company <a href=\"http:\/\/venturamedicaltechnologies.com\/\">Ventura Medical Technologies<\/a> along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tauli.cat\/tauli\/\">Hospital Parc Taul\u00ed in Sabadel<\/a>l (Spain) .
