The event was focused on issues as teaching and research in daily practice. It was organized by Professors Didier Mainard, President of the <em>Acad\u00e9mie d&#8217;Orthop\u00e9die et de Traumatologie<\/em> (AOT), and Philippe Valenti, President of the <em>Conseil National Professionnel de la SOFCOT<\/em> (CNP-SOFCOT).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/medicalex.info\/es\/\">Medicalex<\/a> is a French family-owned company run by Mr. Aldo Levy and Mrs. C\u00e9cile Levy, whose specialization is research, design, manufacture and marketing of orthopedic implants and various surgical materials.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In turn, <a href=\"http:\/\/venturamedicaltechnologies.com\">Ventura Medical Technologies<\/a> is a family business located in the province of Barcelona (Spain), with the capacity to cover all stages of the development of a medical innovation project, from the valuation of the idea to the marketing of the product.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company manages the whole range of innovation processes, own R+D+i resources, design, manufacturing and marketing of its products.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In June 2018, <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/five-years-with-pectus-up\/\"><strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong>\u2019 team<\/a> already went to Paris, along with <strong>Hospital Parc Taul\u00ed de Sabadell<\/strong> (Barcelona) at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eupsa.info\/eupsa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/CONGRESS-Program-Short_website-final-version-upd-10.06.pdf\">19th European Paediatric Surgeons \u2019Association Congress<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this congress, the comparative results between the <strong>NUSS method<\/strong> and the innovative <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> technique &#8211; both used for the fixing of the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong> &#8211; were introduced during the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.annalscts.com\/article\/view\/11850\/12237\">clinical trial started in 2012<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The conclusion of the study was that <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> represented a safe and effective treatment for patients affected by <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong>, with significant advantages over other systems used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong>, the time in the operating room, the postoperative pain and the hospital stay are reduced. However, the main advantage of the technique is that it is extrathoracic, which reduces the risk of damage to the vital organs of the chest. In short, the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> is an excellent alternative for fixing the <strong>Pectus Excavatum.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ventura
