{"id":13579,"date":"2020-01-17T10:21:44","date_gmt":"2020-01-17T10:21:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/?p=8308"},"modified":"2020-01-17T10:21:44","modified_gmt":"2020-01-17T10:21:44","slug":"dr-varela-dr-moradiellos-pectus-up-quironsalud-madrid-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/dr-varela-dr-moradiellos-pectus-up-quironsalud-madrid-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Andr\u00e9s Varela and Dr. Javier Moradiellos perform a new Pectus Up surgery along with surgeons from Grenoble, France, and A Coru\u00f1a"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>A 34-year-old patient affected by <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong> has been treated with the innovative <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> technique by the team of <\/em><strong><em>Cirug\u00eda Tor\u00e1cica Avanzada\u00a0at the Hospital Quir\u00f3nsalud Madrid<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The implant, developed by Ventura Medical Technologies allows to treat <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong>, also called <strong>sunken<\/strong> <strong>chest<\/strong>, with an extrathoracic and minimally invasive approach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/profesionales\/\"><strong>Javier Moradiellos and Andr\u00e9s Varela<\/strong><\/a>, heads of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cirugiatoracica.es\/equipo.html\"><strong>Cirug\u00eda Tor\u00e1cica Avanzada<\/strong><\/a>, were responsible for the success of this surgery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 34-year-old patient affected by <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong> was operated on with the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> last December at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quironsalud.es\/hospital-madrid\"><strong>Hospital Quir\u00f3nsalud Madrid<\/strong><\/a>. The surgical session was also part of a training session into which several thoracic surgeons interested in the technique were invited.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The surgery was also attended<strong> by Dr. Gil Frey<\/strong> a thoracic surgery specialist and Head of the Thoracic, Vascular and Endocrine Surgery Department of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chu-grenoble.fr\/\">CHU Grenoble Alpes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dr. Marina Paradela <\/strong>was also present in the surgery. She is part of the Thoracic Surgery team of the Technological Training Center of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coruna.gal\/portal\/es\/detalle\/complejo-hospitalario-universitario-de-a-coruna-chuac\">Complexo Hospitalario Universitario de A Coru\u00f1a (CHUAC)<\/a>, led by Dr. Mercedes de la Torre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Paradela had already attended <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/doctor-laureano-molins-benchmark-in-pectus-up-technique-training\/\">a Pectus Up surgery by <strong>Dr. Laureano Molins and Dr. Jorge Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong><\/a> at the Teknon Medical Center, Barcelona, in September 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Cirug\u00eda Tor\u00e1cica Avanzada<\/strong> team specializes in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and has already conducted several training sessions for thoracic and pediatric surgeons both at the national and international level<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Community of Madrid (Spain) has already a history of more than 20 attended by many surgeons from different countries, in order to achieve their training goals in this new technique. Thanks to this, the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> technique can be implemented in more <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong> patients worldwide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> brings many advantages for the patient, poses fewer complications, both intraoperative and postoperative, and causes
