The intervention with the new implant developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/venturamedicaltechnologies.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ventura Medical Technologies<\/a> took place at the <a href=\"https:\/\/clinicamarcaribe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cl\u00ednica Mar Caribe<\/a> in the city of Santa Marta, in Magdalena.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Var\u00f3n, a thoracic surgeon from the Universidad El Bosque and an associate professor at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unimagdalena.edu.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Universidad del Magdalena<\/a>, has large experience in the <strong>surgical treatment of chest deformities such as the<\/strong> <strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong>, commonly referred to as <em>sunken chest<\/em> or <em>funnel chest<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Carlos Rodr\u00edguez Sabogal, chief of Thoracic Surgery at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalmilitar.gov.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hospital Militar Central de Bogot\u00e1<\/a> and an expert in this type of chest wall deformity, has contributed together with the pediatric surgeon Dr. Fernando Fierro to the training of several surgeons specialized in different areas of Colombia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The surgery was very successful, the surgeons were very satisfied with the result of the new procedure and the patient had a very favorable evolution, with little postoperative pain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the first <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/1st-training-workshop-in-taulinoplastia-in-colombia-thoracic-and-pediatric-surgeons-are-taught-the-new-technique-for-pectus-excavatum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> training workshop held in Bogot\u00e1 in October 2017<\/a>, coordinated by <a href=\"http:\/\/biomedisys.com.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biomedisys SAS<\/a>, the Pectus Up distributors in Colombia, there are already 18 <strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong> patients treated with this innovative surgical technique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> represents an important innovation in the field of thoracic chest deformity surgery, since it is an extrathoracic method, minimally invasive and with a remarkable reduction in risk, complexity and postoperative recovery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Colombia, Mexico and Chile are the first three countries in Latin America in which <strong>this innovative surgical system has been marketed<\/strong>. The first cases will be soon performed in Costa Rica and, in the coming months, the <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> will have the health registry also in Peru and
