{"id":13601,"date":"2020-06-30T09:00:54","date_gmt":"2020-06-30T09:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/?p=9005"},"modified":"2022-11-04T08:35:33","modified_gmt":"2022-11-04T08:35:33","slug":"surgeons-costa-rica-trained-pectus-up-pectus-excavatum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/surgeons-costa-rica-trained-pectus-up-pectus-excavatum\/","title":{"rendered":"Surgeons from Costa Rica are trained in the new method Pectus Up to treat Pectus Excavatum"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>After being authorised to market the <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> in Costa Rica, <strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong>, in cooperation with <strong>Sumedical CR<\/strong>, has conducted an online training course for thoracic surgeons experts in the treatment of <strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong> in the city of San Jos\u00e9. <\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Several thoracic surgeons from the hospitals Calderon Guardia and San Juan de Dios took part in a training course to treat Pectus Excavatum with the <strong>Pectus Up technique<\/strong>. The course was imparted by\u00a0videoconference by <strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to surgeons being trained in the <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong>, Costa Rica patients affected by <strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong>\u00a0will be able to benefit from this new minimally invasive surgical technique.<\/p>\n<p>From the thoracic surgery service at the Hospital Calderon Guardia, Dr. Jos\u00e9 Alberto Mainieri Hidalgo, head and manager of service, <strong>Dr. Andrea Mata Blanco<\/strong>, <strong>Dr. Albert Bola\u00f1os Cubillo<\/strong> and <strong>Dr. William Guido Guerrero <\/strong>took part in it<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, <strong>Dr, Ricardo Alfaro<\/strong>, thoracic surgeon at Hospital San Juan de Dios, also from the city of San Jos\u00e9, took part in it too.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sumedicalcr.com\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sumedical CR<\/a><\/strong> professionals, Pectus Up distributor in Costa Rica, were trained\u00a0in\u00a0the Pectus Up by <strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After obtaining the health registration from DRPIS, and thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/pectus-up-marketed-costa-rica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sumedical\u2019s cooperation<\/a> and the training in the method for surgeons from these two Costa Rican hospitals, more patients from the American continent will be able to have their <strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong>\u00a0fixed with an extrathoracic approach.<\/p>\n<p>Ventura Medical Technologies provides guidance and the required training to perform the surgical implantation of the <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> in complete safety and guarantee by all surgeons interested in specialising in this new method.<\/p>\n<p>The company has conducted training courses on the <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> for thoracic and paediatric surgeons <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/profesionales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">around the world<\/a>: Spain, France, United Kingdom, Portugal and Italy in Europe; Colombia, Mexico, Chile and Peru in Latin America; Morocco in Africa.
