{"id":13648,"date":"2021-04-26T13:00:32","date_gmt":"2021-04-26T13:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/?p=9865"},"modified":"2022-11-04T08:36:28","modified_gmt":"2022-11-04T08:36:28","slug":"pectus-up-mexican-social-security-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/pectus-up-mexican-social-security-system\/","title":{"rendered":"The Pectus Up is implanted in a hospital of the Mexican Social Security System"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>A new surgery sets a precedent for the treatment of Pectus Excavatum in Mexico, with the introduction of the Pectus Up into a hospital of the largest social health system in the country.<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On April 14, <strong>Dr. Izchel Valdez<\/strong> performed a surgical correction of a <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong> with the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> implant, developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/venturamedicaltechnologies.com\/\">Ventura Medical Technologies<\/a>, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/edumed.imss.gob.mx\/pediatria\/index.htm\">Hospital de Pediatr\u00eda del Centro M\u00e9dico Nacional Siglo XII<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Valdez is a pediatric thoracic surgeon that was trained in the Pectus Up technique at the end of last year by the professionals of <strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/profesionales\/dr-daniel-alejandro-munguia-canales\/?lang=en\">Dr. Daniel Mungu\u00eda Canales<\/a>, a prestigious surgeon in the Mexican community, with an extensive experience in the implantation of the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The patient, a 15-year-old male, had a slightly asymmetric <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Excavatum<\/strong> with a Haller index of 4.40. He was beginning to have scoliosis and a mild deviation of the spine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the surgery, the doctor counted on the presence and support of <strong>Dr. Mungu\u00eda<\/strong> and <strong>Dr. Ricardo Villalpando<\/strong>, renowned thoracic surgeon in pediatrics and former president of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnct.com.mx\/\">Consejo Nacional de Cirug\u00eda del T\u00f3rax<\/a>, a non-profit organization dedicated for more than 40 years to certify the skills of specialists dedicated to thoracic surgery.The group was completed by an excellent team of nurses, surgeons and anesthesiologists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The result of the surgery was fully satisfactory for both the patient and the surgeons, who have marked a turning point in the <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong>, since this is the first time that it is used in a hospital of the <a href=\"http:\/\/edumed.imss.gob.mx\/pediatria\/index.htm\">IMSS<\/a>, the institution with the greatest presence in social and health protection in Mexico, since its founding in 1943.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Pectus<\/strong> <strong>Up<\/strong> technique, faster, easier and with less risk than other procedures, takes a step forward in its consolidation in Mexico
