Historically, this hospital has been the fundamental nucleus of the Valencian Medical School, a center of reference for all professionals, starting this journey with the papal bull Pope Alexander VI, who managed to make the General Study that includes the School of Surgery and its practical hospital training.<\/p>\n<p>The Thoracic Surgery Service of the Hospital General de Valencia is one of the most excellent services of the Spanish state, which offers postgraduate training in the specialty and has trained more residents in the State (20) in the same. It currently has 9 surgeons and serves a population of 1,300,000 inhabitants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ricardo Guijarro<\/strong> is Professor of the Department of Surgery at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uv.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidad de Valencia<\/a> since 2018, accredited by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aneca.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ANECA<\/a>, with a position linked to Head of Thoracic Surgery Service of the Hospital in 2008. He has collaborated in multiple research and publications in specialized journals in thoracic surgery and is recognized for being the director of the first chair in robotic surgery in the Comunitat Valenciana.<\/p>\n<p>This prestigious doctor has 3 quinquenniums of teaching seniority recognized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnai.es\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNAI<\/a> and 4 sexennials of research. His teaching activity at the University dates back to 1991.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Eva Garc\u00eda del Olmo<\/strong>, assistant physician of the Thoracic Surgery Service of the Thoracic area, has received the award for the best communication in the 46th Congress of the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery, within the area of Thoracic Oncology, which shows her commitment to research and innovation in this field.<\/p>\n<p>Garc\u00eda del Olmo and the rest of the Service team support and give continuity to the Hospital&#8217;s Research Commission, of which Dr. Guijarro is the President. Among the research lines of the Commission we highlight the one that deals with new approaches in thoracic surgery, highlighting new techniques in video-thoracoscopic surgery, being a pioneer in starting with thoracic surgery without patient admission in the Valencian Community and performing the first robotic thoracic surgeries in the region.<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/ventura-medical-technologies\/\"><strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong><\/a> fits very well in the research line of this hospital, to which the company offers its engineering services for any development in the field of Thoracic Surgery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/pectus-up-surgery-kit\/\">Pectus Up<\/a> is one of the products developed by the company, which is a novel surgical method that offers a <strong>minimally invasive extrathoracic solution for the correction of <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/el-pectus-excavatum\/\">Pectus Excavatum<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is an important <strong>technological innovation<\/strong> in the world of thoracic surgery for the treatment of this pathology, as it is a minimally invasive method that reduces the complexity and risks of the intervention, leading to a shorter recovery time for the patient and very satisfactory results.<\/p>\n<p>With this surgical method, the patient&#8217;s pain is considerably reduced, allowing him to resume his daily activities quickly and improve his quality of life. This is another example of the technological advance in the field of thoracic surgery and of the importance of having professionals of the stature of Guijarro and Garc\u00eda del Olmo to take another step forward in the evolutionary history of <strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong>
