Renowned thoracic surgeon Dr. Ricardo Guijarro performed an innovative surgery to correct a severe case of <a href=\"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/pectus-excavatum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong><\/a> in a 19-year-old patient, employing for the first time in Spain <strong>a doble Pectus Up plate technique.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The procedure, led by Dr. Guijarro, Head of the Thoracic Surgery Department, alongside Dr. Eva Garc\u00eda del Olmo, marked a milestone in the treatment of this chest wall deformity. The decision to use <strong>two Pectus Up plates<\/strong> enabled a more precise and stable correction of the patient\u2019s severe sternal depression.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Doble Pectus Up Plates: Innovation for the Most Complex Cases<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The use of two Pectus Up plates is a strategy reserved for particularly complex cases, such as extensive and deep sternal depressions, and has proven highly effective.<\/p>\n<p>Internationally, only two similar interventions had been documented: one performed at the Bambino Ges\u00f9 Pediatric Hospital in Rome, led by Professor Alessandro Inserra and Dr. Federico Fediani, and another in Australia, led by Dr. Shyam Kolvekar. Both achieved excellent results.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Pectus Up<\/strong> technique, developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/venturamedicaltechnologies.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ventura Medical Technologies<\/strong><\/a>, represents a significant advancement in the treatment of <strong>Pectus Excavatum<\/strong>. As an extrathoracic and minimally invasive alternative, it reduces risks and improves recovery times.<\/p>\n<p>This approach continues to evolve thanks to collaboration between researchers and renowned surgeons worldwide, working to refine the treatment of complex cases and bring new hope to a growing number of patients.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Tribute to Medical Excellence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ventura Medical Technologies highlights the work of surgeons who adopt these innovations in their medical practice, skillfully and diligently tackling the challenges
