{"id":4556,"date":"2017-09-15T09:04:43","date_gmt":"2017-09-15T09:04:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/?p=4556\/"},"modified":"2022-08-22T08:41:23","modified_gmt":"2022-08-22T08:41:23","slug":"colombian-surgeons-trained-in-pectus-up-surgery-kit-implantation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pectusup.com\/en\/colombian-surgeons-trained-in-pectus-up-surgery-kit-implantation\/","title":{"rendered":"COLOMBIAN SURGEONS TRAINED IN PECTUS UP SURGERY KIT IMPLANTATION"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><em>Specialised\u00a0surgeons in Pectus Excavatum treatment, along with Ventura Medical Technologies distributor in Colombia, visited Barcelona to take part in a training workhsop on Taulinoplastia.<\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Dr. Carlos Alberto Rodr\u00edguez Sabogal and Dr. Fernando Fierro \u00c1vila have participated in the training workshop to acquire necessary skills for the use of the Pectus Up Surgery Kit in extra-thoracic treatment for patients affected by Pectus Excavatum.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Rodriguez is a specialist in thoracic surgery in Hospital Militar of Bogot\u00e1 and Cl\u00ednica VIP, and was educated in Universidad de El Bosque. On his part, Dr. Fierro is a specialist in pediatric surgery in Fundaci\u00f3n HOMI, Fundaci\u00f3n Santa Fe de Bogot\u00e1 and Cl\u00ednica Infantil Colsubsidio, and was educated in the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.<\/p>\n<p>Surgeons were joined by Mr. Edgar Salazar Betancur, General Manager of Biomedisys SAS, Ventura Medical Technologies\u2019 distributing company in Colombia.<\/p>\n<p>These workshop activities were held in different cities from the province of Barcelona, consisting in several theoretical and practical sessions, both in hospitals and universities, and in Ventura Medical Technologies\u2019 own facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The training also featured the collaboration of Dr. Bernardo N\u00fa\u00f1ez Garc\u00eda, coordinator of the Pediatric Surgery Service in Hospital Parc Taul\u00ed of Sabadell (Barcelona), Dr. Laureano Molins, Thoracic Surgery Service chief in Hospital Cl\u00ednic and Hospital Sagrat Cor, both in Barcelona, Dr. Alfonso Rodr\u00edguez Baeza, Professor of Anathomy in Universidad Aut\u00f3noma of Barcelona, and Dr. Mariano Monz\u00f3, Professor of Anathomy and Human Embryology in Universidad de Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>With these training sessions and after INVIMA Medical Device Direction resolution, adopted last month of June, whereby the health registration was granted to market the product in Colombia, patients affected by this thoracic deformity may be treated with the Pectus Up Surgery Kit and take advantage of this innovative technique, easy to implant and minimally invasive, named Taulinoplastia.<\/p>\n<p>With Taulinoplastia, the patient will suffer less pain than with other current techniques, will require less hospitalization days and will show a quick recovery, since the chest cavity is not invaded during the surgery.<\/p>\n<p>News appearance in the press.
