
The Mexico Hospital, which also extends its medical services to the inhabitants of the Northern Huetar Region, has implemented an innovative procedure to repair a congenital chest deformity known as pectus excavatum.
Dr. Omar Castillo, a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon at the hospital, indicated that the pectus excavatum condition involves a significant sinking of the lower part of the sternum, causing a deformity that compromises the patient’s psychosocial integrity.
