The Thoracic Surgery Department at Getafe University Hospital has adopted a minimally invasive innovative surgical technique for the treatment of pectus excavatum, the most common congenital deformity of the chest wall. The new technique is less painful for the patient, doesn’t require an Intensive Care Unit stay, and reduces the average hospital stay from one week to three days, promoting the patient’s quicker recovery.
