FIRST SURGERY WITH PECTUS UP SURGERY KIT IN FRANCE

• The first surgical intervention using PECTUS UP Surgery Kit took place in the Hôpital Nord-Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Saint Étienne, lead by Dr. Manuel Lopez and Dr. Olivier Tiffet.

• Dr. Manuel López will be demostrating the functionalities of PECTUS UP at the XX Colombian Congress of Pediatric Surgery to be held in Medellin from the 22 to the 24^th of September.

Professor Manuel López, pediatric surgeon, and Professor Olivier Tiffet, thoracic surgeon, use the Taulinoplastia technique for the affected patients with Pectus Excavatum in the Hôpital Nord – Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Saint-Étienne. This is the first time the PECTUS UP Surgery Kit, developed by Ventura Medical Technologies, has been implanted to treat Pectus Excavatum cases outside of Spain.

THE PECTUS UP CROSSING BORDERS

PECTUS UP, developed by Ventura Medical Technologies to treat Pectus Excavatum cases, has already been established in Spain and France, where several surgeons have started to practice the new Taulinoplastia technique after receiving the relevant training. PECTUS UP hasn’t only been established in Spain and France but also has done it in Latin America, specifically in Colombia and Mexico, where the product is already in the registration phase. You can view the map of hospitals that have operated by the Taulinoplastia’s technique.

PECTUS UP WILL BE PRESENT IN THE XX COLOMBIAN CONGRESS OF PEDIATRIC SURGERY IN MEDELLIN FROM THE 22^ND TO 24^TH OF SEPTEMBER, ALONG WITH DR. MANUEL LÓPEZ

Between the 22^nd and the 24^th of September it will take place the XX Columbian Congress of Pediatric Surgery in Medellin, where Dr. Manuel López will assist to show the Pectus Up to every attendant. This congress, hosted by the Colombian Society of Pediatric Surgery (SCCP), will deal with the following fields: Natal surgery, acute abdomen, trauma, urology, chest and vascular surgery, child mistreatment and new horizons of the pediatric surgery. The intervention of Dr. Lopez will be held during the inaugural journey, Thursday 22^nd of September, between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., and later in the afternoon a specific session for the thoracic surgeons that showed interest during the visit from Dr. Lourdes Camp in Colombia.

El Dr. López has exercised as the pediatric surgery service’s responsible in Hôpital Nord-Centre Hospitalier Universitaire of Saint-Étienne until this month of September and currently he is the new head of the pediatric surgery service of the Hospital Vall d’Hebron of Barcelona. He released more than 180 publications and has participated in more than 100 international congresses. He also teaches at the pediatric surgery faculty at the IRCAD Laparoscopic training center. He is part of the International of the Pediatric Endoscopic Group (IPEG), he is involved in the European Society of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgeons (ESPES) and he is a member and the secretary of the executive committee of the Chest Wall International Group (CWIG).
