The 23rd edition of the Annual Congress of the Chest Wall International Group (CWIG) took place from June 22nd to 24th, 2023, and was organized by the Chest International Group and the Marmara University of Istanbul.
During his presentation at the conference, Prof. Kolvekar showcased the Pectus Up technique as a significant technological innovation in the world of thoracic surgery for the treatment of “sunken chest” in both young and adult patients with varying degrees of asymmetry.

Professor Shyam Kolvekar, the leading Pectus Up surgeon in the United Kingdom, is recognized for attaining the status of elected member of the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in England. He currently works at the Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, known for his expertise in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, lung cancer, and thoracic wall deformities. Additionally, he holds an honorary associate professorship at University College London and has been involved in numerous research projects.
