First Successful Surgery with Pectus Up® New Generation at Infanta Elena University Hospital 

This achievement marks a significant milestone in the adoption of this innovative treatment at leading hospitals in Madrid, establishing it as a minimally invasive and highly effective solution for treating Pectus Excavatum.

The surgery was led by Dr. Yuri Bellido, a distinguished surgeon with extensive experience in thoracic surgery, specializing in complex chest deformities and pathologies. He is widely recognized for his numerous scientific publications and active involvement in advanced surgical training programs. During the procedure, Dr. Bellido highlighted the Pectus Up® New Generation as a transformative alternative to traditional techniques, offering a less invasive approach and faster recovery for patients.   

The surgical team also included Dr. Muguruza, Head of the Thoracic Surgery Department at the hospital. An expert in minimally invasive procedures, with specialization in robotic (RATS) and thoracoscopic (VATS) surgery, Dr. Muguruza has an outstanding track record. He has led complex surgical interventions and is renowned for his dedication to training new generations of surgeons and his active participation in prominent international congresses.   

Additionally, the team had the privilege of working with Dr. Daniel Cabral, who traveled from Portugal to collaborate in the procedure. Dr. Cabral, the lead surgeon at Pulido Valente Hospital in Lisbon, brings extensive experience with over 600 surgical procedures performed, including more than 150 lobectomies using advanced techniques. His commitment to innovation in thoracic surgery positions him as an international reference in the field.
