Pectus Up New Generation is consolidating its position as the definitive solution for the correction of Pectus Excavatum in Southern Europe, adding to its list of successes three new interventions in Portugal.

On August 30, three Portuguese patients went to the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra, Portugal, to undergo surgery with Pectus Up New Generation to correct their Pectus Excavatum.

The new Pectus Up New Generation model extends the surgical treatment to a wider range of patients with Pectus Excavatum, allowing older adult patients affected by this thoracic malformation and with a more pronounced degree of asymmetry to benefit from the treatment.

The interventions were successfully performed by Dr. Rita Pancas, cardiothoracic surgeon, and Dr. Susana Lareiro, thoracic surgeon, both specialists of the Hospitalar Center, which is distinguished by the quality of care, research capacity and innovation, as well as teaching.

On this occasion, they were assisted by Dr. Jorge Hernandez Fernandez, who acted as Proctor during the surgeries. Dr. Hernandez is a thoracic surgeon at the Sagrat Cor Hospital in Barcelona and a member of the renowned team of thoracic surgeons led by Dr. Laureano Molins.

Dr. Molins is the Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and a specialist in thoracic and general surgery, with special dedication to conventional and videothoracoscopic thoracic surgery and minimally invasive surgery of Pectus Excavatum. The doctor and his team have extensive and satisfactory experience in the minimally invasive surgical technique Pectus Up.
