The Ministero certified that the Pectus Up Surgery Kit meets the standards in terms of quality, safety and efficiency, as well as the standards of the country.
On June 2017, Ventura Medical Technologies attended the 18 CWIG Annual Meeting held in Florence with the aim of raising awareness of the Pectus Up Surgery Kit among leading worldwide experts in thoracic deformities treatment. Many thoracic and pediatric surgeons showed a keen interest on the innovative extrathoracic surgical technique named Taulinoplastia, used to treat patients affected by Pectus Excavatum, which is why the company came to the decision of undertaking the recording of the implant in the Italian Health Registration , thus offering a good solution for people suffering from this disease and seeking an alternative to traditional methods.
After setting this goal, the first step taken by Ventura Medical Technologies team was contacting the Ministero della Salute, the public body whose mission is assessing health risks associated with medicinal products and medical devices for the Italian population. After evaluating the product, the Ministero certified that the Pectus Up Surgery Kit meets the standards in terms of quality, safety and efficiency, as well as the standards of the country. Ventura Medical Technologies is approved since then to market the product in Italy.
Following the resolution, the company’s team envisages to reach new commercial goals in Italy. Offering a less invasive and less painful option for all patients affected by this deformity is Ventura Medical Technologies’ main objective. To reach it, the company will provide with the necessary advice so that the surgical implantation of the Pectus Up is made under complete safety and guarantee by all surgeons interested in the new technique. Furthermore, Ventura Medical Technologies will extend the scope of the product in Italy through partnerships with future distributors or local partners.
