Course attendees will learn about the innovative Pectus Up ® New Generation technique during the three-day program, which includes lectures and hands-on sessions with expert thoracic surgeons.

The first Thoracic Wall Surgery Course organized by ESTS (School of Thoracic Surgery) will be held next October 4-6 in Leuven, Belgium, with the aim of highlighting both theoretical and practical aspects of these pathologies, increasingly important in thoracic surgery.

Ventura Medical Technologies will offer to each of the 24 participants of the course practical sessions in laboratories of the Vesalius Institute of the KU Leuven, an institution dedicated to cutting-edge training, and the anatomy department of the Faculty of Medicine of the KU Leuven.

The course faculty will give training classes during the laboratory sessions, as is the case of Dr. Manuel López, Head of the Pediatric Surgery Department of the Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, who will conduct the session on the minimally invasive surgical technique Pectus Up New Generation for the correction of Pectus Excavatum.

Participants will receive an overview of the advances and innovative solutions in the treatment of congenital chest wall deformities, such as Pectus Excavatum, the treatment of thoracic trauma and aspects related to resection and reconstruction of the chest wall.

In addition, they will achieve a level of practical knowledge of commercially available techniques during laboratory sessions and use them in a semi-clinical setting in cadaver training. In this way, participants will be able to offer their patients state-of-the-art treatments based on the latest scientific knowledge.
