Ventura Medical Technologies, a leader in innovative solutions for the treatment of chest wall deformities, has donated a Pectus Up® kit to Ukraine for a soldier suffering from Pectus Excavatum.

The recipient of this initiative is a 32-year-old Ukrainian soldier affected by Pectus Excavatum, who has endured multiple injuries since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022. His condition had significantly worsened his respiratory insufficiency, leading to severe medical complications.

Given the economic constraints of Ukrainian hospitals and the patient himself to acquire the Pectus Up®, Dr. Kseniia Denysova, in her tireless efforts to treat the patient, reached out to Ventura Medical Technologies to find a solution that could improve his quality of life.

Due to the coexisting conditions the patient was experiencing, conventional surgical methods were not a viable option. This led the medical team to identify the Pectus Up® as the optimal solution. This minimally invasive extrathoracic technique corrects Pectus Excavatum without compromising the thoracic organs.

The company mobilized all necessary resources to ensure the procedure could be performed, providing training to the surgeon and supplying the materials required for the proper implantation of the Pectus Up®.

The surgical intervention was successfully carried out at Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro under the direction of Dr. Denysova, a renowned thoracic surgeon in the country. The donation of the Pectus Up® to Ukraine has marked a turning point in the soldier’s life, significantly improving his health and quality of life.

We take this opportunity to express our support for all those affected by wars and conflicts and to recognize those who offer their help with commitment and solidarity.
